Gitcoin is happy to announce the integration of Tezos, one of the leading proof of stake networks into its platform.
According to the announcement, this latest integration comes with numerous benefits for development projects, including infrastructure, tooling, and applications currently supported on the Tezos ecosystem.
The integrations come weeks after Tezosā third anniversary. The network currently has over two million contracts calls DeFi and NFT ecosystems. On the other hand, Gitcoin is a leading community platform aimed at funding builders looking for meaningful, open-source work. The platform has over 300k monthly active developers who contribute to about 2000 projects.
Gitcoin plans to host the āNFT Me You Can DAO Itā hackathon, offering a total of $75000 worth of tez (XTZ)Ā to kickstart the integration. The hackathon will be a virtual event set to start on July 23 and run for about 30 days. Gitcoin explains that the hackathons will help encourage talented creators and open-source builders to help expand the DAO ecosystem and NFT on Tezos.
Notably, the hackathon will be the first of eight Tezos hackathons by the platform. Notably, the hackathons will be spread out in the course of the next two years.
Those participating in the events will be allowed to build new NFT experiences and platforms, develop highly requested features from Tezos creative community or develop innovations for existing use cases. Additionally, participants interested in DAO will be allowed to explore frameworks for DAOs. These could include battle-proof Minimal Viable DAOs ready to be forked and built upon repeatedly, Curation DAOs, tooling for DAO treasury management, or tooling for off-chain token-based voting.
The hackathon prize pool detail includes giving $15,000 in tezos (XTZ) for the first prize (1 team), $10,000 in (XTZ) for the Second Prize (3 teams), and $5,000 for the third prize (6 teams) in (XTZ).Ā
All submissions will be judged based on the impact of their projects on the Tezo ecosystem, the project technical capabilities, novelty, and UX and design. Also, all participants are required to fill their projects under the MIT open source license. Finally, all working prototypes must be built on the Florence testnet and should list the addresses of their token contracts.
Reportedly, the winning team members will be added to the priority list for future bounties. In addition, they will also be invited to apply for a grant through the Tezos Foundation.
