It is not uncommon for these types of malware to steal data from infected computers or systems.
Encrypting all information on a hard drive remains the main problem when dealing with Maze and consorts.
This malware first made headlines following the attack on Allied Universal.
During that attach, there was no ransom note associated with the infection, forcing the victims to visit a darknet site.Â
It is unclear if the Pensacola incident has a ransom message attached to it, as officials sources neither confirm nor deny that aspect.
The attack itself has crippled a few systems and affects public emails and phone numbers, as well as online payment systems.
It is unclear if and when the situation will be rectified.Â
